Green

I would just like the world to know that I can be “Green”, valuing conservation, nature, and good stewardship of our resources, and yet still be skeptical if not cynical regarding the modern environmental lobby and the religion that it has become.

I can be a good caretaker of the earth (as is my Biblical mandate), and yet think Al Gore is a crock.

I can conserve water, energy, and gasoline and yet not buy into human-caused global warming.

I can be a supporter of planting trees and a protester of industrial pollution yet be a conservative Republican.

Really.

The world is not black and white. Conservatives and Republicans do not hate the environment. We are not for dirty air, polluted water, wasting energy and raiding resources.

Seriously. I can be Green and not buy into the whole political agenda.

I appreciate & agree with your comments. I don’t yet see repubs or conservs as a whole embracing the green idea. Unfortunately green still feels more like a political idea than the apolitical environmental issue that it is.

maybe we should lead the way… 🙂

Hmm…so I am not alone in the world after all. 🙂

I agrees with all your points, especially our Biblical responsibility to be good stewards of the Earth, but I think this this issue is not a republician/democrat thing. You know… point the fingure at the other party because they arent fully “cooperating” with the GREEN movement. See we are all missing the point here. The “green” movement(Global Warming/Climate Change/Cap & Trade or what the flavor of the month is), for the most part, is not about the right or the left (demacrates or republics)it’s nothing more then a propaganda tool for the progressives, on the right and left, in Washington to fundamentally tranform America into a European style Country/Government. AKA: Government Charity; you no longer get to deside on who you give money to. The government is smarter then you and they will decide who needs the money and will distribute it accordingly/Redistrabution of Wealth (Locally and Gobally through the UN through Cap & Trade). Also what comes along with the “Green” movement the destruction of the free market, Social Justices (Last time I checked this was the churches/charits/orginzation responsability, NOT the governments. Government should just assist if need be.) and oh yeah, last but not least, higher taxes.

I believe individuals/organization (other then the gov)/business should find better ways of taking care of our plant and get BIG goverment out of the way. Remember it wasnt the goverment who invented electricity, the wheel, the potbelly stove, the light bulb, etc, etc. It was the individual(s) and the individual(s) can come up with great ways make the planet “GREENER” with out having BIG government regulation.

I could go on but I am not. The BOTTOM line here is that the “GREEN” movement, for the most part, is about progressivism, not Right/Left/Republician/Democrat, PERIOD.
